"Keep it Simple, Sweetie" with craft- Mother's day Flower

A mother's day flower. Cute and easy.

Things you will need;

Coloured paper for petals
Green paper for leaves
A piece of dowel. (You can get these at most craft shops or hardware store). You could also use a straw or some bamboo or a stick.
A sparkly sticker
A ruler
A pen
Sticky tape
A stampler

Method

Draw tracking lines and then cut all the coloured paper into pieces about 3cm wide.

Get the kids to draw on these pieces.

Get some leaf shapes off google or draw your own and cut them out.

Measure the dowel into 15cm pieces and cut with a hand saw.
This is fairly easy. Hold the length of the dowel on a table to steady it. Then start at the top f the saw and push through a full length before you try to go back and forward. If you find it tricky just keep pushing it and don't do the pull.
Use some sand paper on the dowel ends so there are no splinters. You can use a straw instead of the dowel if this seems a bit much.
Using a length of the coloured paper, fold it just over the half way mark with both ends.

 Then staple the middle together.
Do this with all of your colours.
Then, holding the middle, place then around in a circle.

 Staple these in place.
Sticky tape the dowel to the back.

Then sticky tape the leaves on.

Turn it over.....

And place a sticker in the middle to hide the staple. Happy Mother's day, mum. xx
